What happens to the best .com names every day
Every day around 100,000 .com domains are deleted and released at 12:00 UTC. A few hours later we check the 400 best-scoring names of that day with the Verisign registry and record how many someone registered and how many are still free for anyone to take. This is the running record, one report per drop.

How it is measured. “Best” means that day’s top 400
names by our score, which measures the name itself — not a price. “Registered”
means the registry had a record for the name when we checked; for each one we read the
registration time from the registry to see how soon after the drop it was taken. Nothing here is
estimated. Domain terms explained.
