What we collect

Domain Scout stores the email address and password you sign up with (the password is hashed and never stored in plain text), the domains you choose to watch, your alert preferences, and the alerts we send you.

We do not collect payment details for domain purchases. Registrations happen on a registrar's own website, not here.

How we use it

To run the service: keeping your watchlist, monitoring the registry for the names on it, and notifying you when something changes. If you enable email alerts, we email you at the address on your account for those events only.

We do not sell or rent your information and we do not use it for advertising.

Registrar links

When a domain becomes available, Domain Scout shows links to third-party registrars. Some of these are affiliate links: if you register a domain through one, we may receive a commission. The price you pay is not affected. What you do on a registrar's site is governed by that registrar's policies, not ours.

Third parties

The service runs on hosted infrastructure and, if email alerts are enabled, uses a transactional email provider to deliver messages. These providers process data only to provide those services. Availability data comes from the public Verisign RDAP service and public release lists; we send only the domain name being checked.

Cookies

One cookie, used to keep you signed in. No tracking or advertising cookies.

Your choices

You can stop watching any domain, change alert settings, or ask for your account to be deleted at any time. Deleting your account removes your watchlist and alert history.
